Jacob Amersfoort (M.Sc.) is a PhD student at the Division of Biopharmaceutics.
Amersfoort studied Biomedical Sciences at the Leiden University Medical Center where he obtained his master’s degree in 2014. During his study he did an internship on genome engineering at the Edinburgh Cancer Research Center. After that, he focused on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at the Radiology department of the LUMC . This was in line with previous contributions to MR data collection for the Netherlands Epidemiology of Obesity Study from 2010 until 2013. His present research focuses on the interplay between systemic and cellular metabolism during dyslipidemia, primarily focusing on (regulatory) T cells and autophagy.
