PhD candidate / guest
In 2010 I started with the Bachelor program Life Science & Technology at the Delft University of Technology and Leiden University. In the third year of my bachelor I completed the minor Finance at the applied mathematics faculty at the TU Delft. I finished my bachelor with a bachelor thesis at the industrial microbiology department at the TU Delft where I studied the ATP conservation in yeast.
I continued my Life Science and Technology study at the TU Delft where I followed both the Cell Factory and the Biochemical Engineering track. In my master thesis I studied the metabolism of a bacteria that is impossible to isolate from other bacteria at the Cell Systems Engineering department at the new faculty building of applied sciences in Delft. I completed my masters with a company internship at the Centre of Human Drug Research in Leiden studying the data of the skin microbiome in patients with eczema.
After I finished my master, I continued working at the Centre for Human Drug Research as a PhD student studying the data obtained from preliminary drug research. While I will be performing data analysis for the clinical scientist for the company, I will also be doing my own research with this data. This data can range from genomic data obtained from the skin to data derived from a car to study driving behavior. I will focus on finding novel ways to process and visualize these kinds of data.
