Harmen van der Veer (1988) recently obtained his PhD at the University of Amsterdam. His dissertation focused on the European Parliament, including a substantial focus on research methodology. Currently, Harmen is a visiting scholar at the Department of Political Science at Leiden University. Among his activities are teaching courses on research methodology and parliamentary behavior. His research focus lies currently with democratic backsliding in Central and Eastern Europe, and the effects of populist radical right parties on parliamentary behaviour.
