I am a PhD-candidate at a position funded by the Ministery of infrastructure & water management. I seek for projects within the human environment and transport inspectorate (ILT) where data science and/ or network science can make a difference.
In 2012 I started my bachelor in Chemistry. Back then, I already started to learn programming to analyze data obtained from experiments more thoroughly. After I finished my bachelor, I enrolled in the master Analytical Chemistry in Amsterdam, but with additional courses in Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Statistics. For my master thesis I wanted to make a difference in an organization, which was at that time not familiar to any data science at all; the human environment and transport inspectorate (ILT). My research concentrated around the possibilities to measure sulphur dioxide emissions from the shipping industry and how statistics can improve the understanding of results obtained from remote sensing.
