Richard is a PhD candidate at the Europa Institute and coaches the Leiden University team in the ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition.
During his research, he interned with the WTO, United Nations ESCAP and the Development Research Center of the State Council of the PRC. Moreover, he also contributed to a Stanford Law School research project about the evolution of Chinese jurisprudence as an assistant managing editor. Prior to his PhD research and Master’s degree study in Leiden, he practiced law in Shanghai.
