Charlotte de Roon is doing comparative research on partisan and nonpartisan political youth associations in Western democracies. In order to find out whether political youth associations make full use of their potential as driver of political youth participation, the goal of the current study is to analyze how various political youth associations organize and operate.

Charlotte de Roon studied Psychology and Public Administration at Leiden University. She graduated in Social & Organisational Psychology in 2011, and a year later in Public Administration, with specialisation track Politics & Bureaucracy. Since December 2011 she is connected to the Dual PhD Centre. As a research associate she is involved in several (research)projects, the education programme, and the coaching of dual PhD candidates. Charlotte also participates in the University Council on behalf of the party PhDoc.

Moreover, as a dual PhD candidate herself, she is doing comparative research on partisan and nonpartisan political youth associations in Western democracies. In order to find out whether political youth associations make full use of their potential as driver of political youth participation, the goal of the current study is to analyze how various political youth associations organize and operate.
