Caroline L. Bokhorst is teachhing coordinator of the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University. 

She obtained her master’s degree in developmental psychology from Leiden University, with a specialisation in research methods and statistics. She obtained her PhD from Child and Family studies, also from Leiden University, and focused on attachment in twins, conducting a behavioral genetic study on infant-mother and infant-father attachment.   

Her research focuses on physical, psychosocial and cognitive maturation during adolescence and its relationship to social anxiety, specifically speech anxiety. In addition, she is interested in the influence of temperament and peer relations during development. She teaches academic skills tutorials and supervises bachelor’s and master’s theses.
