Following this, she received a Master in Geography from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007. During her time at UCLA, she conducted research on the Room for the Rhine project in the Netherlands. She was awarded a PhD in Geography from the National University of Ireland, Galway. This work explored the social sustainability of wind energy in Ireland, drawing lessons from Denmark and the Netherlands.
