Professional experience
Beilun got her BSc degree in Biology at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, China in 2013, and her MSc degree in genomics at Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Science in 2017. Her MSc study was focused on the metagenome of prokaryote of soil. One project was trying to figure out the relationship between ginseng culturing and the prokaryote biodiversity in soil. The other was focused on the human impact on prokaryote biodiversity at Antarctic. She started her PHD study at the Conservation Biology Department at CML in September 2018.
Research topic
Beilun’s research is focused on biodiversity detection by environmental DNA (eDNA), which is a total non-invasive method. Nowadays the application range of this method is limited by less knowledge of the state of eDNA. She try to figure out the component of eDNA and how it changes in wild, and make the eDNA method more effective in biodiversity research.
