Anne Veens is a lecturer at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology. She holds a MSc in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (Global Ethnography) from Leiden University. During this master, she conducted research on Dutch dairy farmers, their position in society and how they use and share knowledge within their families and farming communities.
Anne is particularly interested in the field of environmental and nature-oriented policies and their impact on small-scale settings. Her research experience lies in themes such as agriculture, wildlife introductions, landscape restoration and the management of nature areas.
Anne teaches working groups in first-year courses Culture & Comparison and Diversity & Development. She is also tutoring first-year students.''
