Amandine Lassalle received a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) in September 2013, and was subsequently a postdoctoral researcherat Cambridge University (Cambridge, UK), Harvard Medical School (Cambridge, USA), and the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) before joining the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University. Her research interests include visual and auditory perception of social stimuli, empathy, and autism. Currently, she is involved in Mariska Kret's VIDI project, “Disconnected and distrusting: Emotional deficits in social anxiety disorder and autism spectrum disorder ” in which she investigates the linkage between mimicry, emotion recognition, and trust in patients with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
