Alexis A. Aronowitz is a lecturer in International Justice and teaches a course on human trafficking. She received a Masters and PhD in Criminal Justice from the University of Albany. Her fields of expertise are in human trafficking, violent hate crimes, violence and aggression, and criminology. She has worked as a consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the UN International Crime and Justice Research Institute, the International Organization for Migration, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and other international organizations. Alexis has coordinated research and published extensively on topics in the area of human trafficking and hate crimes. Her book Human Trafficking Human Misery: The Global Trade in Human Beings was published by Praeger in 2009. Alexis designed this course and teaches it at universities in the United States and Germany. She is also an Assistant Professor of Criminology at University College Utrecht.
