Adriaan van Veldhuizen is an assistant professor at the Leiden University History Department. He studied history and philosophy in Groningen and holds a PhD in political history from Leiden University. Together with prof. dr. Herman Paul he is currently participating in the KNAW research project “Epochal Thinking”. His teaching, for which he received the Carla Muster Award for Teaching,  focuses on courses in Historical Theory and Intellectual History. Besides this Adriaan is the coordinator of the PhD-program of the Leiden University History Department.
