Research
My current research lies at the intersection of late antiquity and Christianity, with a focus on the philosophical tools shaping Greek patristic thought. My project, called 'The interpretation of the differentia during late antique and early Christian thought' (INdifference: H2020-MSCA-IF grant no. 843839/2020-2022) investigates the reception of the notion of difference, a key term in Aristotelian and Neo-platonic logic, into the early Christian theological debates. The research takes its input from the late divergent Neo-platonic attempts to cope with the philosophical conundrums posed by differentia and aims at identifying the means by which this concept gets a major importance in the ongoing parallel Christological debates in Byzantium.
