The central aim of the research programme is the search for determinants and risk- or protective factors for neurodevelopmental problems in adaptive behaviour.

Our group is specialized in the study and treatment of social development of children and adolescents, with a focus on mild to severe developmental disorders. The central aim of our research programme is the detection of determinants and risk- or protective factors for neurodevelopmental problems in adaptive behaviour. Such problems commonly lead to cognitive and emotional problems as well as social dysfunctioning in children and adolescents. 

The knowledge generated by our programme can be used for developing prevention, intervention and treatment initiatives for children and adolescents to promote optimal coping strategies.
