Van 15 - 19 juli vond de eerste Summerschool Global and European Labour Law: Labour Law in Flux georganiseerd door de afdeling Sociaal recht plaats. Studenten van 12 verschillende nationaliteiten en 3 verschillende continenten namen deel aan dit programma.

Moritz Jesse, Universitair Hoofddocent voor Europees recht, aan het Europa Instituut sprak op de jaarlijkse conferentie van de Global Legal Network in Tallinn, die in november in Tallin (Estland) plaatsvond.

Grensverleggend geschiedenis leren.

Eens per jaar worden door het Leids Universiteits Fonds (LUF) subsidies toegekend voor onderzoeks- en onderwijsprojecten in verschillende wetenschapsgebieden. De Faculteit Governance and Global Affairs haalt dit jaar vier subsidies binnen voor Andrei Poama, Jochem Jansen, Valérie Pattyn en Min Cho.

Dankzij online onderwijs kunnen internationale studenten veel makkelijker aanschuiven in colleges. Zoals bij de Leidse minor Global Health. Studenten uit Tanzania, Rwanda, Oeganda en Malawi schoven ook aan en verrijkten de colleges met hun kennis over onder andere tropische ziekten.
