On the day that Leiden University celebrated its 444th birthday, we organised drinks for our alumni who live and work in the Brussels area.

Leiden University mourns the victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels. These attacks are an assault on our democratic society. We will continue to defend our European values of freedom and tolerance against all attempts to undermine them.

Students of the European Union Studies track of MA International Relations visited Brussels this October and met many Leiden alumni who already work there.

On Thursday and Friday, 1 and 2 March 2018, ICCL students and staff enjoyed a study trip to Brussels, including visits to the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the European Commission and top law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.

At the beginning of March 2017 the ICCL students visited Brussels for a two-day visit.

After two years, it was great to be back in Brussels again. Many thanks to all alumni and students who were present during the academic discussion on the values and the future of the EU, followed by networking drinks.

On November 16th 2018 Jorrit Rijpma visited the European Parliament and the European Commission with students of the LDE Master on the Governance of Migration and Diversity.
