Computer Science & AI
Every month on a Friday LIACS welcomes a leading computer science expert for a lecture on Overarching Themes In Computer Science (OTICS).
The main focus of the lectures is to identify new lasting themes in the field of computer science and to reflect on past and still existing directions. These overarching themes span all areas of computer science, including foundations, systems, programming, software engineering and computer science applications. Each lecture is followed by a Q&A led by Prof. Harry Wijshoff, chair of this colloquium.
Apart from (applied) computer scientists, alumni and students, anyone with a serious interest in the field is invited. The lectures are announced on the university’s event calendar and, depending on the lecturer’s preference, given in English or Dutch.
