StuNed Scholarship

The StuNed programme provides scholarships for Indonesian professionals and graduates wishing to study in the Netherlands, with the underlying objective of strengthening both human resources in Indonesia and Dutch-Indonesian relations.

For who

For Indonesian professionals and outstanding recent graduates, applying for study programmes in the following thematic areas:

  • International trade, finance and economics
  • Transport, (agro)logistics and infrastructure
  • Security and rule of law
  • Agro-food and horticulture

You can apply for a StuNed scholarship for the following study programmes

  • Master programmes with:
    - a maximum duration of 2 years.
    - a clear relation to the StuNed objectives.
    - a maximum tuiton fee of € 20,000 per year.
  • Short courses with: 
    - a duration of 2 to 12 weeks.
    - a clear relation to the StuNed objectives.

Eligibility requirements

  • You must be admitted to a Master’s programme or short course at Leiden University.
  • Master’s programmes: You must be an Indonesian professional with at least two years of work experience, OR a recent graduate with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements.
  • Short course: You must be an Indonesian professional with at least two years of work experience.
  • Your studies must have a clear relation to the StuNed underlying objective (see intro text).

The StuNed Scholarship Programme is an integral part of the bilateral cooperation between the Governments of the Netherlands and Indonesia.


The student is responsible for submitting a complete application, according to the steps described above and before the aforementioned deadline. Leiden University cannot be held responsible for late and/or incomplete applications.
