Although social and emotional problems are often reported in individuals with Klinefelter syndrome, reflecting a vulnerability for psychopathology, there have been few studies investigating the etiology of these difficulties.

In this project, we aim to gain insight in the underlying mechanisms of social functioning by focussing on the automatic processing of socio-emotional information rather than measures of self-report.  In order to meet this aim we measure visual scanpaths and emotional arousal in response to affective movie-clips, using eyetracking and psychophysiological measures such as heart rate and skin conductance.

Such ‘objective’ measures of socio-emotional processing are related to the subjective experience based on self-report.
