This report shows that despite the global endorsement of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC) children become victims of violence far too often and justice should be done for those children. This report shows that states are under obligation to protect the position of child victims by securing their right to physical and psychological recovery and social reintegration (art. 39 CRC). The work of this year’s winner of the International Children’s Peace Prize, Abraham Keita, a 17-year-old boy from Liberia, provides a powerful narrative about how to respond to violence against children in a way that contributes to a world fit for children.
