Laura Heitman nominated for the Prix Galien Research Award
Laura Heitman, Associate Professor at the Division of Drug Discovery and Safety, was nominated for the Prix Galien Research Award. The winner will be announced after the Figon Dutch Medicines Days on October 2nd 2018.
In the Netherlands, the Prix Galien Research Award has been awarded in the Netherlands since 1992. The award is intended for a promising young scientist or group of scientists who have conducted scientific research that is of great fundamental significance and directly related to other fundamental or clinical drug research. Which three researchers are nominated and who eventually wins the prize is determined by an independent expert jury with extensive expertise in the disciplines to be assessed. The jury consist of pharmacologists, professors in various pharmaceutical and medical disciplines and representatives of (government) institutions. The prize consists of a gold medal designed by Albert de Jaeger (1908-1992), winner of the first Grand Prix de Rome. The Prix Galien Research Award also consists of a sum of € 5,000.
