Leiden Certified Public Manager® Program has started
The Certified Public Manager® Program (CPM) stands for 'Empowering public leadership in a changing world'. In the week of 20 to 24 November, a mixed group of senior managers from the Netherlands, UK and Spain went to work in The Hague. Under the guidance of CPM Program Director Nikol Hopman and colleague Caspar van den Berg, the participants work on concrete change tasks within the public sector, across the boundaries of their own organization, sector and country.
The CPM module is offered by the Center for Professional Learning (CPL) of the Hague Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs. During the first module Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and the group reflected on the major challenges of governing for the coming years. Jan van den Berg outlined an integral model for one of these major challenges: Cyber security. Ambassador Kees Klompenhouwer shared his own experiences from the field: 'Leading in the eye of the storm'. And Zeger van der Wal offered new perspective on the opportunities for the 21st century. The CPM Program® consists of five intensive and reflective modules of one week in The Hague, Brussels, Manchester in the UK and Kaunas in Lithuania.
The CPM-Program® is a certified leadership program from the USA, which offers CPL an exclusive license in the Netherlands and Europe. CPL sets a new standard in the field of leadership development and collaborates with Manchester University's Business School, Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania and Complutense University in Madrid.
