Leiden hosts international ERCIS workshop on data science
The annual workshop of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) was held in Leiden this year. The Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) and the Leiden Centre of Data Science (LCDS) hosted the event.
Some 60 researchers from all over Europe gathered in Leiden to join the workshop, which took place from 28 until 30 August. This year’s event, organised by Michael Emmerich (LIACS), was focused on the confluence of data science and information systems. After an opening by Aske Plaat (LIACS) and Jaap van den Herik (LCDS), the thematic focus was explored, as well as future possibilities for European project collaborations.
ERCIS is an international European network of research institutions and companies, working together in the field of information systems. The aim of ERCIS is to foster collaborations in publications, projects and education. For more information, please visit the ERCIS website.
