Jeanine de Roy van Zuijdewijn about the term ‘soft target’

Since the attack of 22 may 2017 in the Manchester Arena, we have often seen the term ‘soft target’. Jeanine de Roy van Zuijdewijn, researcher at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs, took part in a Q&A about the attack in Manchester.

In an interview, de Roy van Zuijdewijn explains to the NOS what is meant with the term ‘soft targets’ and why the Manchester Arena is called so.

‘Soft targets are usually citizens or spots that are poorly protected’, says terrorism-expert de Roy van Zuijdewijn.

Together with youth psychologist Mariken Spuij she was live in the NOS-programme yesterday to answer questions from citizens.
