Dental tartar unfolds Neanderthal secrets

British and Australian researchers have analysed the DNA in the dental tartar of several Spanish Neanderthals. One of the conclusions was that the Neanderthals had a mostly vegetarian diet.

On March 11, the results of the investigation were the topic of conversation in a broadcast of NPO Radio 1, featuring archaeologist Gerrit Dusseldorp.
