Project for protection Syrian archaeology on Dutch radio
Olivier Nieuwenhuijse, project leader of the project Focus Raqqa, was hosted by the NOS Radio 1 news broadcast on February 16, 2017.
This project focuses on making a complete inventory of archaeological findings that were made during excavation projects in Syria. Many of these findings have been stolen by the Islamic State. The goal of the project is to make it possible to track these stolen or illegally traded artefacts.
