Paul Keβler professor by special appointment
Professor Paul Keβler, prefect of the Leiden Hortus botanicus, holds the special chair Botanical gardens and botany of South-East Asia since 1 February 2017.
By appointing special chairs, the Leiden University Fund (LUF) supports new scientific areas. ‘The LUF could not have picked a better moment to appoint this special chair,’ says the German botanist, who studied at the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern and the Universität Hamburg. The Dutch Association of Botanical Gardens named 2017 the Year of the botanical gardens and 2017 is the Leiden Asia Year.
