Astronomers from Leiden write IEEE Software Impact column
Professor Simon Portegies Zwart and doctor Jeroen Bédorf had the honour to write for the IEEE Software magazine.
The column appeared in the September-October edition of the magazine. IEEE Software is by invitation only: researchers are asked to write about the greatest and latest advances in recent software developments. Portegies Zwart and Bédorf wrote about the advances in computational astrophysics. They focused on the development of their own software called Astronomical Multipurpose Software Environment (AMUSE). In addition, they addressed how the development of scalable software can change the way we think about modelling the universe.
