Prof. dr. W.A. Schabas wins the ASIL 2015 Certificate of Merit
On 3 March 2016 the book “The European Convention on Human Rights: A Commentary” by prof. dr. W. A. Schabas has been selected by The Executive Council of the American Society of International Law (ASIL) to receive the 2015 Certificate of Merit for High Technical Craftsmanship and Utility to Practicing Lawyers and Scholars.
The Society annually bestows three book awards, known as ASIL Certificates of Merit, for a “preeminent contribution to creative scholarship;” “a specialized area of international law;” and “high technical craftsmanship and utility to practicing lawyers and scholars.” The awardees are selected by the Society's Executive Council on the nomination of the Scholarship Awards Committee and presented at the Society’s Annual Meeting. The Award will be presented on Thursday, March 31 in Washington D.C. during the Assembly of the Society’s 11th Annual meeting.
