New home in sight for NIMAR Rabat

The Netherlands Institute in Morocco is moving to a new location in the Moroccan capital, Rabat. Following a complete renovation of the building, the doors of the new NIMAR Rabat will open in September 2016.

The design: study and research

The new design is the next step in creating attractive and professional surroundings for NIMAR’s education and research in Rabat. In this new location, outstanding provisions for teaching will be available, as well as study spaces for researchers. In addition, there are meeting rooms and the building will serve as a library. The educational resources will be located on the ground and first floors, and the second floor will house work spaces for staff.

An important moment

On 30 January 2016, Dutch Ambassador to Morocco Ron Strikker and owner Said Zniber signed the rental contract for the new building on behalf of Leiden’s Rector Magnificus, Carel Stolker.
