Jaap van den Herik wins Humies Award 2014

The paper Genetic Algoriths for Evolving Computer Chess Programs by Omid E. David, Jaap van den Herik, Moshe Koppel, Nathan S. Netanyahu has won the Humies Award 2014 (human-competitive results produced by genetic and evolutionary computation).

The paper Genetic Algoriths for Evolving Computer Chess Programs by Omid E. David, Jaap van den Herik, Moshe Koppel, Nathan S. Netanyahu has won the Humies Award2014 (human-competitive results produced by genetic and evolutionary computation). This paper was chosen by an international jury of world-leading scientists in Evolutionary Computing as the most important work in evolutionary computing of the past year. Since 2004 the Humies Award winner is chosen annually during the GECCO conference, which this year took place in Vancouver (BC), Canada.
