SOLVED: Issue Mediasite / Weblecture Live Streams

Due to a technical issue, some students may experienced issues when trying to watch Weblectures Live Streams.

Issue description

Students may experienced one of the following issues:

  • No audio is available during the live stream
  • the live stream is not available at all.

Workaround

We have found that the following workarounds may resolve the issue for those students that are affected. Please try and see if one of the following actions resolves your problem:

  • Close all tabs and browsers and reopen the live stream
  • Open the live stream in another browser
  • Open the live stream in an incognito window
  • Use another internet connection (WiFi or lan)

Status

Update: Thursday 9 September 16:00 

The servers have been stable for 27 hours, therefore we can state that the issue is resolved. Students should no longer experience issues while watching weblecture livestreams.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Update: Thursday 9 September 13:00

The streaming servers are still stable and no errors have occured with livestreams today. Students should no longer experience issues. We will keep monitoring our services and provide an update at 16:00. 

Update: Thursday 9 September 09:15

The streaming servers are still stable and no errors have occured with the livestreams that started this morning. Students should no longer experience issues. We will keep monitoring our services and provide an update at 13:00. 

Update: Wednesday 8 September 19:30

Since today 13:00 the streaming servers are stable. We will keep monitoring our services and provide an update tomorrow morning.

Update: Wednesday 8 September 13:00

The supplier of Mediasite / Weblectures is investigating the issue and has identified a possible cause. They are working on a fix.
