Interview with Christa Tobler in the Neue Zuercher Zeitung on the consequences of Brexit for Switzerland

After the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom, Switzerland is worried about what this will mean for its relationship with the European Union.

In February 2014, there had been a Swiss popular vote on the so-called "mass immigration initiative". Through the vote, the voting population put new provisions on limiting migration into the federal constitution. Since then, Switzerland has tried to find a solution together with the EU in order to avoid a breach of the agreement on the free movement of persons. In addition, there are negotiations on a reform of the institutional rules on the EU-Swiss agreements. According to the interview, the Brexit vote has not made the Swiss position any easier.
