Do you want to pursue a master's programme in The Hague or perhaps you are still in doubt? Then join us during the Master's Experience Day on 17 March 2023 in The Hague.

During this day, you will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Wijnhaven building of our Campus in The Hague for those who have not been here before.

All our MSc programmes offer a lecture or presentation so you can find out more about what the master's content is about. Registration for this is necessary.

During these content presentations, we assume that you already know the basic information about the study and that you have watched the relevant introduction video.

In addition, you can visit the Meet & Greet market where you can speak to current students, alumni and/or lecturers of each master's programme. It is also possible to take a city tour of The Hague.

If you’re not familiar with The Hague, why not take a Silent Disco City Tour? Are you interested in studying this master’s programme and would you like to know more? Do you want to find out whether the MA International Relations is the right fit for you? The programme is organizing an information session wherein professors tell you more about the focus of the Master’s, the different specialisations offered within the programme, and what you need to know before applying. There will of course also be plenty of time for questions. We hope to see you there!

Please note that this session will be held in The Hague, and there will also be a Q&A session organized in Leiden on the same date. If you would like to attend that one, you can sign up here.

Are you interested in studying the Master Public Administration in the heart of Dutch politics and the international city of peace and justice? Join us in The Hague, The Netherlands and learn what the Master’s in Public Administration has to offer. Choose one of three tracks and delve deeper into governance: Economics and Governance, International and European Governance, or Public Management and Leadership.

Sign up for this session to get a better insight into the programme’s curriculum, internship opportunities in The Hague and have a hands-on experience tackling a case study in the Master’s programme of Public Administration. During a Q&A session with staff and students you can ask all your questions about the programme, studying at Leiden University and about student life in The Hague.

Ben je geïnteresseerd in deze masteropleiding en wil je meer weten over de inhoud, meld je dan aan voor dit try-out college. Ook huidige en/of oud-studenten zijn aanwezig om hun ervaringen met je te delen. Er is volop gelegenheid om al je vragen te stellen.

By joining this session, you will get a more in-depth insight into the Master’s Population Health Management (PHM). You will experience what it’s like to be a PHM student by following a mini lecture and working on a related assignment. Also, current first and second year PHM students will tell you all about their experiences. Of course there is plenty of opportunity to ask all your question to our staff, students and study advisor. We have divided our session in two parts:

  • 15:30 - 16:15 Part 1: Experience the Master's online and on-campus education
    • Mini lecture on pro-active care in clinical practice: changing towards sustainable healthcare
    • Simulation / example of how the on-campus weeks look like and the assignments you will be working on
  • 16:30 - 17:15 Part 2: PHM students experience and Q&A

To get the full experience, we recommend you to join both parts. Please note that you are only able to join the part(s) you have signed up for!

In a short, interactive lecture Alexander van Oudenhoven will be talking about the science-policy interface of biodiversity. Alexander is an environmental scientist working at the Faculty of Science, and he has been part of IPBES (the ‘IPCC for biodiversity’) assessments, which are science-based and aim to inform decision making. Based on key recommendations and targets of the recent biodiversity COP in Montreal, Alexander will discuss what the natural science roots and implications are of these agreed targets. In addition, you will together explore where and how knowledge on governance and social sciences can enhance the application of the biodiversity targets, and which ones can maybe do with improvements.

Alexander is also program director of ‘Governance of Sustainability’, so after the lecture there will be ample opportunity to ask more specific questions about the program.

Programme director Ernst Dijxhoorn introduces you shortly to the curriculum highlights and the general courses of the Master programme Crisis and Security Management. After the introduction assistant professor Joery Matthys gives a mini-lecture on 'Security: Actors, Institutions and Constellations', followed by a Q&A.

The student ambassadors of each specialisation will be present, and ready to answer your questions.

Are you interested in studying the two-year Advanced MSc International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD)? Then sign up for our Campus Experience on Friday 17 March 202317:30 - 18:15 hrs (CET).

MIRD offers a panel discussion with students and alumni. The panel discussion will be hosted and moderated by professor Madeleine Hosli.

Professor Hosli will start with a short introduction of this unique advanced programme, followed by some questions for the students Annette and Miina, and alumni David and Niklas.
