About the lecture

During this short lecture, Nikki Ikani will discuss her recent book, 'Crisis and change in European Union foreign policy’. The book, published with Manchester University Press, provides a novel analytical framework that serves to investigate how the EU changes its foreign policy after crisis, and what forms such change may take. In the book she investigates a series of recent foreign policy crises with which the EU has been faced, such as the Crimea annexation and the refugee crisis, as well as the EU’s policy response to these crises.

Taking the findings of this book as a starting point, she will address the current war in Ukraine, its strategic consequences for the Union and how it may affect European foreign and defence policy in the time ahead.
