The Leiden Consortium on Individual Development (L-CID) is excited to host a Developmental Neuroscience conference on Tuesday 22 March. On this one-day interactive conference we will discuss why Development Matters! The Covid infection rates are decreasing and we no longer have a maximum participants. We look very much forward to have live interaction and inspire each other with our latest work on child development! You are very welcome to join and share your science through poster presentations and networking sessions.

Networking lunch and poster session (live at Stadsgehoorzaal Leiden)

Round table discussion (Dutch live stream available):

  • Discussion on the importance of fundamental developmental neuroscience for societal challenges with Károly Illy (pediatrician and member of the Outbreak Management Team) and Prof. Dr. Arne Popma (head of the department for child and adolescent psychiatry at Amsterdam UMC and chairman of the Dutch Psychiatric Association (NVvP)

About L-CID

The aim of the Leiden-CID study is to increase our understanding of the developmental pathways of social behavior and behavioral control that are important to the development of social competence, from early childhood to young adulthood. Insights from our studies help to understand the underlying processesthat lead to establishing positive relationships, increase young people’s wellbeing and increase our knowledge on ways that individuals develop into contributing members of society. If we better understand the mechanisms involved in developmental processes of social competence this allows us to understand optimal conditions that add to the well-being of developing individuals! Read more about the study aims and meta-data in Crone et al., 2020 DCN.

Leiden: European City of Science 2022

In 2022, Leiden will be the Dutch stage of the European scientific world. The major issues of our time will be discussed during countless conferences and special meetings. The ultimate goal of Leiden European City of Science is to connect science and society. More information about the European City of Science can be found at www.leiden2022.nl

We are looking forward to seeing you at the L-CID congress!

With kind regards, on behalf of the L-CID team,
