Online Museum Talk: The Making of the Exhibition 'In the Light of Cuyp: Aelbert Cuyp & Gainsborough - Constable - Turner'

Thursday 26 November 2020
Museum Talks at the Leiden Department of Art History

The Department of Art History Leiden cordially invites you to the Online Museum Talk of Sander Paarlberg, curator, Dordrechts Museum

Sander Paarlberg, Curator of Old Master Paintings of the Dordrechts Museum, comes to talk about the making of an exhibition on one of the most important landscape painters of the Golden Age, Aelbert Cuyp. He will talk about how the museum choose to show for the very first time how Cuyp had a huge influence on later generations and more particularly in eighteenth-century Britain. There, we can speak of a true 'Cuyp Mania' with collectors paying enormous sums for his work and with painters as Gainsborough, Constable and Turner being thoroughly inspired by the landscapes and the golden light of Cuyp.

Please register via this link. You will then receive the link to join the online lecture on November 26.
