Online Museum Talk: Jongstra's 'Woven skin' at the Lakenhal

Thursday 5 November 2020
Museum Talks at the Leiden Department of Art History
The Department of Art History cordially invites you to the lecture of Claudy Jongstra and Ann-Sophie Lehmann.
Fall 2020 Museum De Lakenhal presents a solo exhibition of Claudy Jongstra. The large works of Claudy Jongstra are ‘painted’ with wool. Thanks to their size they are most overwhelming, but at the same time they create an atmosphere of intimacy and belonging. In this duo-lecture the artist herself will talk about her work, as well as Ann-Sophie Lehmann who will explore how the materiality of Jongstra’s work has a prominent role in its meaning making.
Claudy Jongstra is an artist whose work reimagines and reconstructs textile production systems.
Ann-Sophie Lehmann is professor art history and material culture at the University of Groningen.

Please register via this link. You will then receive the link to join the online lecture on November 5.
