Book launch: global gold production touching ground

On 19 June the launch of the recently published book Global Gold Production Touching Ground. Expansion, Informalization, and Technological Innovation take place.

This book zooms in on the increased diversity, connectivity, and informality in the global gold production system. It combines an analysis of structural trends in global gold production with twelve country case-studies. The book is edited by Boris Verbrugge and Sara Geenen, Institute of Development Policy, University of Antwerp and published by Palgrave. It is part of a FWO (Research Foundation Flanders) funded project. 

Cultural Anthropology Associate professor Sabine Luning wrote one of the country's case studies. Her chapter is about Burkina Faso: Global Gold Expansion and Local Terrains.

Online book presentation
