The coronavirus outbreak is a major public health problem. We as a university are taking measures to help contain and solve this problem, and are taking the advice of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and central government very seriously. In line with the measures announced, this event is cancelled.
Coronavirus: information for students and staffOn the 16th of March, the department of German Language and Culture of Leiden University and the Cultuur & Kommunikation foundation will be hosting a reading by author Nora Gomringer.
Wherever Nora Gomringer performs, she comes with an underestimated superpower: poetry. For more than 20 years she has been singing, reciting and translating and bringing poetry to the people. And she succeeds where schools often fail: in triggering amazement. She shows her sources of inspiration, talks about cherished colleagues and unveils the world of relations between topics and media. The poetess is serious about language that you can have such fun with. But too many words in this text! The poet is here, with her mouth, voice and hands. Let’s listen to her together.

The German department welcomes all students, lecturers and interested visitors to attend the event. The reading will be held in German.
