What is ReproHack NL?
It is becoming more and more common in various scientific disciplines to supplement published research with openly available data and code. Yet, can we reproduce published results by reanalysing the data using the code? During a ReproHack, participants attempt to reproduce published research of their choice from a list of proposed papers with publicly available associated code and data. Participants get to work with other people’s material in a low-pressure environment and record their experiences on a number of key aspects, including reproducibility, transparency, and reusability of materials. At the end of the day we regroup, share our experiences and give feedback to the authors.
ReproHackNL brings this workshop format to the Netherlands and invites researchers of all seniority levels and all backgrounds to learn from each other.

About the speakers and organizers
ReproHack NL is a Reproducibility Hackathon organized by young researchers at Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center and Erasmus Medical Center: Daniela Gawehns (LU), Linda Nab (LUMC), Paloma Rojas Saunero (EMC) and Ricarda Proppert (LU).
It is a member initiative of the Open Science Community Leiden and supported by Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science, the Data Science Research Program, Erasmus Medical Center and DANS (Data Archiving and Network Services). The Center of Digital Scholarship is hosting the event.
Dr. Anna Krystalli is a freelancer working on research software that helps research outputs to be accessible, reusable and transparent. She has ample experience with reproducible research tools and is an editor for ROpenScience.
