Spanish Steps

Prince's Day is the traditional start of the parliamentary year for the First and Second Chamber in The Hague. On the third Tuesday in September, King Willem-Alexander will give a speech in the Ridderzaal in which the government announces its most important plans for the coming year. Prior to the reading of the speech, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima travel in the Golden or Glass Carriage, followed by other important members, from Noordeinde Palace via the Lange Voorhout to the Binnenhof.

The Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs is also taking part in the biggest event of the year. There are two programmes that you can follow during this day.
