Abstract
Is there a pretence to a homogeneity of experience in academia covered by words such as affiliation or community? Certainly, there are real differences between us ‘academics’, but their existence is not necessarily separating us as much as our intention to simplify them, lump them together or refuse to name them. My talk will aim at navigating that curdled space of difference, revisiting how privilege and oppression can coexist and intersect in academia, inviting the audience to hold an open discussion on vulnerability and positive dissent within our institutional context.
