Tenth International Air Law Moot Court Competition 2019

As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the International Air Law Moot Court Competition, the International Institute of Air and Space Law of Leiden University is happy to announce that the co-founder of the competition, the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation from India, has joined forces with the Army Institute of Law of Mohali to graciously offer to host this special 10th edition in Chandigarh, India. The International Air Law Moot Court Competition is a unique opportunity for students seeking to gain experience in the development of arguments in the field of international law and international air law, while also establishing contacts around the world.
We invite Universities having an interest for international air law to send a team to the Competition which will be held from 5-7 April 2019 in Chandigarh, India.
On the right side under ‘Moot Court documents’ you will find this year's case concerning the dispute between the Principality of Mayur (applicant) and the Republic of Akira (respondent) involving questions of international law and international air law; as well as the Rules of Procedure, the National Rules of Procedure (in case a national round is required), the time schedule of the competition and other relevant documents.
Registration is now open. The deadline for registration is 29 October 2018. Registration is completed successfully when the registration fee (see below) has been paid and received. Teams can register by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, including the following information:
- Name of University:
- Team members: (first + family name, gender)
- Coaches: (first + family name, gender)
The deadline for payment of the registration fee (€ 150 per team) is 2 November 2018.

All teams have to send one applicant memorial and one respondent memorial to Leiden University on 14 January 2019 at the latest. The address is:

In addition, applicant and respondent memorials will have to be send to Chandigarh, India. More information about this will be communicated to teams that registered successfully.
INDIAN TEAMS NOTE: The National India Rounds (compulsory for all Indian teams) will be held on the 2nd of February, 2019 (Saturday) at the Army Institute of Law, Mohali. This will be a ONE day event. For registration in the National Rounds, please follow the same procedure as registration for the International Rounds, however only the qualifying teams shall be required to deposit the registration fee of EURO 150 by the 15th of February 2019.
