At LUCIS, we aim to organize exciting events that deepen the knowledge of the visitors. For students especially, we want to offer activities that inspire them to engage with the material and broaden their academic horizon. Of course, there is always room for improvement.

In order to gauge what students are interested in and which event formats best suit their interests, we will organize a bi-annual student panel discussion. Are you a student with an interest in the Middle East and Islam, and do you have ideas about the way in which knowledge on these themes can be shared outside of the regular curriculum? Would you like to give your thoughts on LUCIS’ past and future events and help shape our prospective program? Then join our first student panel on Friday 15 February from 13:15 – 14.30 hours.

The panel will have the form of an informal gathering. Petra de Bruijn, executive secretary of LUCIS, will briefly explain the current plans and possibilities. After that, the floor will be open for questions, suggestions and proposals for future activities. A small lunch is available for attendees.

Please register before Monday 11 February via lucis@hum.leidenuniv.nl.

N.B. The venue will be announced later, depending on the number of participants.
