On the 11th of February, the department of German Language and Culture of Leiden University and the Cultuur & Kommunikation foundation will be hosting a reading by author Thomas Klupp. Our guest will read excerpts from his book „Wie ich fälschte, log und Gutes tat“.

Thomas Klupp, born 1977 in Erlangen, is a lecturer of literature at the University of Hildesheim, where he studied creative writing and cultural journalism. His first book garnered several awards. He was co-editor of the literature magazine “Bella triste”. Thomas Klupp lives and works in Hildesheim and Berlin. He is a member of the German national soccer team of writers.

Benedikt Jäger, protagonist of Klupp’s new book, lives in a provincial town. Born into a wealthy family, he is the face of an anti-drugs campaign, but he himself is not averse to alcohol and drugs. In „Wie ich fälschte, log und Gutes tat“ Klupp portrays life in the province with all its good and bad sides.

The German department welcomes all students, lecturers and interested visitors to attend the event. The reading will be held in German.
