This Week's Discoveries
Scientists from the Faculty of Science present recent discoveries to colleagues of various fields.
Note: New This Week's Discoveries lectures can be found in the 2019 overview.
Please note: This Week's Discoveries is on a short winter pause. From 22 January we resume the series in the old format: consisting of two lectures and starting at 12:15 hours. Lunch will then be provided from 12:55 hours.
This Week’s Discoveries takes place every Tuesday between 12.15 and 12.55 hours in the De Sitterzaal of the Oort building. This seminar has been well established in our faculty. In 15 minute talks two of our scientists give presentations aimed at a broad audience. During the past years this colloquium became a central forum for all scientists from our faculty to come together and to share the latest results and breakthroughs. The main aim is to give young researchers (PhD-students, Post-docs) the opportunity to present their latest results, but we also like to pay attention to the cutting edge research that has led to successful grants.
