INFORM Day on EU Data Protection Law

Friday 2 November 2018
Kamerlingh Onnes Building
Steenschuur 25
2311 ES Leiden

On Friday November 2nd 2018, eLaw, the Center for Law and Digital Technologies at Leiden University, will host a one-day conference on the new EU Data Protection Law that came into force earlier this year. The focus of the conference (in English) will be on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Directive 2016/680 for the processing of criminal law data (a.k.a. as the Police Data Directive).

The conference is intended for a general public, including people who in their work deal with personal data and people who are interested the rights they have as data subjects and what data controllers can do and cannot do with their data. Although the conference presentations focus on legal aspects, we also especially welcome non-lawyers to attend. Both law students and other students are also invited to join the conference.

Attending this conference is for free. Lunch and drinks are provided for all participants. Due to the limited number of seats, registration is required. For registration or any questions, please send a message to Mrs. Regina Noort (elaw@law.leidenuniv.nl) (secretary) or Mr. Georgios Stathis (g.stathis@law.leidenuniv.nl) (conference coordinator).
