To celebrate 200 years of Archaeology and the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, Margarita Diaz-Andreu (ICREA and University of Barcelona) will give a lecture about the future of archaeology.
About the speaker
The research of Professor Diaz Andreu deals with the history of archaeology. In this respect, she has also centred her attention on the connections between archaeology and ideologies such as nationalism, colonialism, class and gender, and dealt with other issues such as academic networks, archaeological tourism and interdisciplinarity. Regarding her work in archaeological heritage, her research has emphasised issues related to World Heritage and UNESCO, the ethics of archaeological tourism, social participation and the impact of migration.
